EU Battery Passport compliance becomes enforceable February 18, 2027. Every industrial and EV battery placed on the EU market from that date must carry a digital product passport. Keystone treats the passport as one downstream read of a per-battery signed, hashed, KeyScore-scored record. The same record drives second-life resale price, insurance pricing, IRA §45W provenance, and DOE Loan Programs Office diligence.

Ingest at pack insert.
Cell chemistry, cell manufacturer, materials lot, factory, build batch, initial capacity, thermal test, weld QA. Every attribute is signed and hashed at insert.

Compute the KeyScore.
0 to 99, deterministic function of verifiable attributes. No black box. Every downstream engine reads the same score.

Publish the passport.
When the pack ships to the EU market, Keystone publishes the required Battery Passport fields to the EU register from the same underlying record. No parallel compliance system to maintain.

Emit lifecycle events over the pack's operating life.
Each operator telemetry event (cycles, thermal excursions, capacity drift) becomes an immutable state change on the passport. Warranty triage, insurance repricing, and second-life valuation all read the current state.

Hand off cleanly to second-life.
When the pack retires from first-life, the full signed lifecycle record transfers to the refurbisher. Verified condition + verified provenance means higher resale price and defensible second-life warranty pricing.
